Hoop lightbox
Scale a design for another hoop. Nordic Snowflake starts at 148.0 by 148.0 mm, which misses a 100 mm field by 48.0 mm. Geometric scale from 80% to 120% keeps every stitch. Density shows a new count and does not unlock a free machine file.

Brand matching is a reading list. It is not written into the free machine file. DST files have no RGB to match.
The color-stop list beside the hoop shows every stop, its stitch count, Brother and Janome codes, and the ΔE for this brand.
Short stitches are under 0.4 mm. Long jumps are over 6.0 mm when the next command is not a trim. Paid cleanup uses 0.45 mm.

Two kinds of scale
Geometric scale multiplies coordinates and leaves the stitch count alone. The bench sample is 110.0 by 70.0 mm and 37 stitches. At 80% it is 88.0 by 56.0 mm and still 37 stitches. The PES still starts with #PES0001. That download is allowed because 80% is inside 80 to 120.
Below 80% or above 120%, the free machine button hides. So does density. Nordic at 95 by 95 mm is about 64% of 148 mm, so even before density the free file is hidden. Density then changes the count from 7,640 to 3,148. The spacing label stays near 0.45 mm, the original median.
The area formula is stitches times new width over old width times new height over old height, rounded half away from zero. 7,640 times 95/148 times 95/148 is 3,148. A geometric shrink would have kept 7,640 and piled the stitches closer than 0.30 mm.
Rose Crest at 88.0 by 84.0 mm already fits a 100 mm field, with 6.0 by 8.0 mm of clearance. Botanical Wreath at 124.0 by 122.0 mm does not. Use those two beside Nordic so you can see a fit, a miss, and a density rescue on the same page.
Seller sizes
The dock fits the original design into 100×100, 130×180, and 160×260 mm and counts stitches by area. For Rose Crest that is 8,290, 14,011, and 21,223 stitches. Eight formats times three hoops is 24 files. They download only in the seller bundle.
The free ZIP on this page is the current size in eight formats, and only when the scale is geometric and inside 80 to 120 and density is off. It is not the 24-file pack. The file count in the dock stays 24 so the paid set is not confused with the free set.
Sew time follows the count on screen. A density preview at 3,148 stitches is shorter than 7,640. At 600 stitches per minute that is about 5.2 minutes. The dock also shows 800 stitches per minute. Both use the same rounding as the rest of the bench.
Width and height are the target size in millimetres. Setting 95 and 95 on Nordic, with density checked, is the case that fits a 4×4 field. The status should read Fits 4×4" Hoop. The stitch line should read 3,148. The machine button should be hidden.
Do not guess the field
A Brother 4×4 sewing field is 100 by 100 mm, which is 3.94 inches. A design marked 4×4 still has to fit inside that field. The frame around the field is larger and does not count. The hoop chart lists all 30 fields the same way.
Clearance under 3 mm is a tight note, not a failure. The Fits or Exceeds line uses the full field. A 95 mm design in a 100 mm field fits. Try to leave 3 mm when the artwork allows it. The checker will not pretend a miss is a fit.
Rotating 90 degrees swaps width and height. If the swapped size fits and the current size does not, the note says Fits if rotated 90°. Nordic is square, so a turn does not save it. A wide crest sometimes does.
Uploaded files stay in the browser. The density number is math on coordinates you already loaded. The paid files, if you buy them, are built in memory and not stored. Sew a scrap. A denser file can still punch a soft knit if the needle and stabilizer are wrong.
Sequence
Nordic opens at 148 mm. Confirm it exceeds a 100 mm field by 48.0 mm before you change a number.
Width and height are the size you want. 95 by 95 mm is the Nordic example that fits a 4×4 field.
The stitch line becomes 3,148. Spacing stays near 0.45 mm because that label is the original median.
80% to 120% keeps the stitch count and enables the machine file. Density files are the paid 24-file bundle.
Where it fits
Shrinking coordinates alone would stack 7,640 stitches into 95 mm. Density preview shows 3,148 instead. The file is in the seller bundle. Open the full converter.
90% is inside 80 to 120. The stitch count does not change and the machine file downloads. Use that when spacing can tighten a little. Then write JEF if the machine is Janome.
Botanical Wreath is 124 by 122 mm. Check the exceed amount, then decide between a larger hoop and a real resample. Compare hoop fields.
The embroidery hoop size checker lists all 30 sewing fields in millimetres and inches. The DST thread color sheet shows why a Tajima stop has no RGB to recover.
Questions
The same stitches land closer together. A design that was comfortable at 0.40 mm can drop under 0.30 mm and break needles or punch the fabric.
From 80% to 120%, in steps of 1%, the stitch count stays the same and the machine file downloads. The size you see is the size that is written.
It is 148 by 148 mm. A Brother 4×4 field is 100 by 100 mm, so it exceeds the field by 48.0 mm. At 95 by 95 mm it fits.
The preview shows the new stitch count. The machine files that were resampled for 4×4, 5×7, and 6×10 are in the paid seller bundle, 24 files in all.
